Wattson Audio’s flagship streaming DAC, the Madison Streamer, delivers a listening experience that harmonizes technical excellence with musical beauty.

Swiss PrecisionMeets Musical Engagement

The new Madison Streamer represents a streamlined evolution of Wattson Audio’s celebrated network player. With the retirement of the Classic and Lounge Edition models the Madison line now converges into a single unified design that preserves the performance and topology of the Madison Lounge Edition while introducing refined exterior detailing. Internally it remains identical to its predecessor—built around Wattson Audio’s proprietary streaming platform renowned for its natural time-coherent musicality. Externally the updated cosmetics and simplified model structure bring visual harmony to the Madison family while maintaining the precision warmth and expressive musical flow that have made it a benchmark in its category.

Designed with a singular focus on delivering extraordinary sound in its purest form the Madison Streamer continues the legacy established by the acclaimed Lounge Edition. Its exceptionally low noise floor and robust output stage provide the authority and control needed to drive connected amplifiers with effortless precision. The result is a musical experience alive with dynamic contrast tonal finesse and emotional depth—qualities typically reserved for far larger and more costly components. True to Wattson Audio’s engineering philosophy the Madison Streamer embodies a perfect balance of technical mastery and musical artistry reaffirming the brand’s commitment to purity precision and performanc.

Wattson Audio's Pinnacle of Precision and Performance

The Madison Streamer is Wattson Audio’s definitive expression of digital playback and control. Designed and engineered entirely in-house it combines a robust analog output stage with advanced DSP architecture—the foundation not only for its effortless musical precision and emotional depth but also for continuous refinement over time. This flexible digital platform allows Wattson to implement meaningful performance upgrades such as the new high-precision digital volume control developed to enhance transparency dynamic nuance and musical realism. Supporting both network streaming and S/PDIF digital sources the Madison offers balanced and single-ended outputs for seamless integration with power amplifiers preamplifiers or integrated systems. Compact elegant and uncompromising in performance it embodies the essence of a modern high-end digital source—pure precise and profoundly musical.

The Madison Streamer reflects Wattson Audio’s belief that great sound is born from balance—between technical precision and musical flow between simplicity and sophistication. Every subsystem is optimized not in isolation but as part of a coherent whole ensuring that digital analog and power stages operate in perfect harmony. Its minimalist circuitry is meticulously tuned to minimize signal loss reduce noise and preserve dynamic integrity. The result is a product that feels both effortless and exacting—an instrument of musical truth shaped by experience not excess.

Engineered for Musical Realism

At the heart of the Madison’s digital architecture lies the Wattson Spline filter—a proprietary upsampling algorithm derived from the same time-domain design philosophy used in our cost-no-object CH Precision siblings. Rather than prioritizing abstract frequency-domain ideals the Spline filter is optimized for temporal accuracy where musical coherence actually lives.

By carefully shaping its impulse response the filter minimizes both pre- and post-ringing—avoiding the time smear and false leading energy that can compromise transient realism and rhythmic integrity. Instead of offering multiple selectable filters each representing a different set of compromises Wattson refined a single purpose-built solution focused on preserving the timing texture and natural flow of real instruments.

Refining the Volume Control

Developed in collaboration with CH Precision Wattson’s new digital volume control was created specifically for the Madison platform. Replacing the former LEEDH implementation it’s a fully in-house design shaped by a balanced process of mathematics measurement and critical listening. At its core a 64-bit digital attenuator preserves even the smallest signal changes with absolute integrity. Operating in 0.5 dB steps verified to within ±0.1 dB it maintains exceptional accuracy and linearity by minimizing truncation and rounding errors.

Existing Lounge Edition Madison Streamers will receive this new digital volume control via firmware update ensuring every owner benefits from the same precision refinement and performance as the latest model.

Seamless and Versatile Digital Connectivity

At the heart of the Madison Streamer is Wattson Audio’s proprietary streaming engine—developed in-house around the Texas Instruments Sitara processor and refined through years of continuous evolution. This custom platform ensures uncompromising signal integrity outstanding reliability and seamless support for high-resolution audio including native PCM and DSD. The result is effortless performance and a fluid intuitive user experience.

Beyond streaming the Madison offers a dedicated S/PDIF input section with 75Ω RCA and TOSLink optical connections for legacy digital sources. Its precision clocking architecture employs ultra–low-phase-noise oscillators for the 44.1 kHz and 48 kHz families each independently filtered to minimize jitter and noise. A high-performance SHARC DSP drives Wattson’s proprietary upsampling and spline-filtering algorithms optimized for exceptional time-domain accuracy. Dual WM8742 DACs—one per channel—ensure superior separation spatial coherence and tonal purity preserving the integrity and emotional depth of the music.
