Joy of the Audiophile|PEAK Sonora Two-Way Compact Floorstanding Speaker

An audiophile recently purchased the PEAK Sonora two-way floorstanding speaker, Chord Company’s flagship speaker cable ChordMusic and jumpers, the second flagship SarumT RCA interconnect, as well as the PhonoARAY turntable grounding system all at once at our Wan Chai showroom. The system was delivered to Laguna City last Saturday, where we carried out installation and tuning for the customer.

The customer was originally using the Ensemble Reference bookshelf speakers. In an on-site comparison between the two, the final result was a complete victory for the PEAK Sonora. When listening to Ling Ge, the sound was delicate, the vocals focused, the instrument positioning precise and clear, and the sound separation excellent. When listening to Harry Belafonte live, the soundstage was vast with no sense of compression at all, and the musical atmosphere was intense. When testing the bass extension of the pipe organ from Cantate Domino, it delivered impressive sub-bass performance even in a moderately sized room. The throat texture of the choir could be easily heard, and there was no messiness at all even at maximum sound pressure, showing outstanding control. In the end, the customer was satisfied and accepted the system.
