2025 Hong Kong High-End Audiovisual Exhibition | Siltech Briefing

At its booth F01 this year, Siltech showcased three physical cables from its new flagship Master Crown series in three cable cabinets. Regardless of their audio signal transmission performance, the Master Crown’s exquisite craftsmanship alone is incredibly appealing, its elegant design exuding a sense of unattainable luxury.

The most impressive feature of Siltech cables is their latest S10 single-crystal pure silver conductor. When the conductor’s cross-section is carefully examined under a microscope, it’s easy to see that the metal is a complex lattice or array composed of individual atoms. The resulting strands clearly show an imperfect structure composed of multiple large crystals bonded together. G9 alloy is another unique silver-gold alloy from Siltech, using 24k gold to fill the naturally occurring tiny cracks in the silver crystal structure. These cracks, if left unaddressed, would cause slight distortion in the transmitted audio signal. While Siltech claims that filling these tiny cracks provides a significant sonic advantage, this process cannot match the crack-free performance of the S10 single-crystal conductor, which completely lacks these voids and cracks.

S10 single-crystal pure silver is manufactured using 10th-generation metallurgical technology developed over many years. Siltech states that this technology provides continuous pure silver single crystals, completely eliminating the gaps and microcracks in the crystal structure of previous alloys. Single-crystal pure silver is said to provide extremely low resistance and distortion inherent in the conductor itself, reducing the damage these defects cause to the transmitted sound signal. Siltech further enhances the Master Crown geometry and manufacturing technology using advanced software such as COMSOL Multiphysics. This simulation platform provides fully coupled multi-physics and single-physics modeling capabilities for the interactions between various aspects of the physical system, further optimizing functionality and greatly leveraging Siltech’s continuous efforts to push the boundaries of high-performance audio cable manufacturing technology.

Master Crown signal cables (including RCA and XLR) incorporate four strands of S10 single-crystal pure silver conductors in their new balanced geometry, a combination that also helps address issues related to magnetic field distortion (MFD). All contact conductors are made of S10 single-crystal pure silver and directly gold-plated using a plasma plating process. Improvements to the locking mechanism of the RCA connectors are said to significantly reduce eddy current effects, all contributing to further lower noise floor. Of particular interest to Master Crown signal cables is the inclusion of a two-stage grounding switch, allowing users to choose between a truly fully balanced configuration with directional grounding or a fully “floating” shielded connection, the effectiveness depending on your system’s grounding requirements.

Master Crown speaker cables feature six extra-large diameter S10 single-crystal silver conductors in a perfectly symmetrical hexagonal structure, and plasma-plated gold-plated S10 single-crystal silver fork-shaped speaker connectors. Similarly, advanced software simulations optimize its geometry to help suppress magnetic field distortion (MFD) and current shielding distortion (CSD). Siltech states that while these speaker cables can comfortably handle up to 10 kW (10,000 watts!), they are also capable of transmitting sound down to as low as 8 femtowatts (0.000000000000008 watts)! Recall that femto is a prefix indicating 10-15 decimal places, or one trillionth of a unit—in this case, one watt—you might begin to understand how this extremely wide power range allows for the audibility of every sound.

The Master Crown power cord features an 18-strand configuration, combining S10 single-crystal pure silver wire and G9 silver-gold alloy wire. The power connectors use pure silver conductors and employ a special grounding configuration to avoid floating ground.

In addition to showcasing three ultra-premium Master Crown cables from Siltech at booth F01, IAH, Siltech’s parent company, also presented and demonstrated several of their brands in conference room S424. Most impressively, two pairs of Sphinx floorstanding speakers (Element 3 and Element 5) were played live. The Element 3 and 5 speakers draw on technology from Siltech’s Symphony open-baffle large floorstanding speaker and Crystal Cable’s Minissimo Forte model. Sphinx’s new speakers emphasize accuracy and clarity, featuring exclusive “Zero Gravity™ Bass” technology, which reduces compression caused by cabinet resonance to achieve purer, deeper bass and superior transient response. Highlights of the Sphinx Element 3 and 5 speakers include a sculpted cabinet structure, premium internal wiring, and custom PAC™ (passive-active crossover) technology. The brand claims that the synergy of these designs ensures seamless integration between drivers and a more natural sound, blending high performance with elegant aesthetics.
